1098 interest

Posted on: 27th Sep, 2010 12:59 pm
I am co-borrower on daughter's home and am making all mortgage payments (prin. & int.). Since she doesn't itemize deductions, am I entitled to deduct the interest expense even though the 1098 form has her SSN and not mine?
Hi Guest,

If your name is mentioned on the mortgage docs, then you will be able to deduct the mortgage interest payments while filing your taxes.

Thanks,

Jerry
