I am thinking about buying a townhouse, the HOA dues that you have pay state it covers a blanket ins policy, is that the same as buying home owners ins, will it cover the same things, what does it cover?
Hi rick!

Welcome to forums!

As far as I know, a blanket insurance policy is a single policy on an insured property which covers more than one type of property at the same location or similar types of property at more than one location, or two or more kinds or property at two or more locations.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

Ultimately, it's the same as purchasing your own Home Owner's Insurance. If you want to insure the contents in your home; that's completely different.
