I have a friend who wants to get rid of her unsecured debts. She is going through a divorce. Her ex had repeatedly opened joint accounts without letting her know anything about it. She has now been served judgment letters regarding the same. This is one of the reasons for their divorce as well. So, how can she get rid of her unsecured debts?
Well, your friend is in a difficult situation. It will be better if she could get in touch with banks or the credit card companies where joint accounts have been opened and negotiate with them in this regard. If she can prove the fact that all these accounts were opened without her permission and convince them, then may be she may not have to pay for these accounts. If nothing works, then she may have to file bankruptcy.

yes, filing bankruptcy should be the last option of your friend. your friend can even take legal help to deal with her creditors so that she may have to pay a lower amount or nothing for the debts taken out by her husband.
feel free to ask if you've further queries.
