I've tried to find an insurance plan to cover my existing 1st & 2nd mortgages due to a job loss. I've yet to be able to find a company that offers this unless it's a new mortgage. Please help with some leads on what companies are still offerring this. Thanks.
Hi jbe!
Welcome to forums!
It would have been better if you would had opted for the Job Loss Mortgage Payment Protection Insurance when you took out the loan. As you've already defaulted the loan, it won't be possible for you to get an insurance now.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

I've not defaulted on anyting, I just wanted to add this safety net in case a job loss situation comes up in the future. At the time I took the mortgages out back in 2005 I wasn't concerned.
Hi jbe,
You should contact the local insurance companies or their agents and speak to them about your situation. They would let you know whether or not you would be able to get Job Loss Mortgage Payment Protection.
Thanks

I checked with my insurance company carrying my home, they don't offer it (Statefarm) any other suggestions as far as companies?
Welcome jbe,
As far as I know, insurance companies like GE Casualty, Genworth mortgage insurance, Prudential Georgia Realty, Bank of America, etc. offer job loss mortgage payment protection. You can contact any of these companies and check out if they can help you in this matter.
Thanks,
Jerry
