Landlord to evict tenants

Posted on: 10th Apr, 2013 11:45 pm
What are the steps a landlord needs to take in order to evict the tenants from the property? Let me explain… We were good tenants for the past 8 years. For the past few months we were unable to pay the rent and told the landlord that we would clear dues after getting the tax return. Though she had agreed, now we have received a 3 day notice period to pay or quit. Right now we have nowhere to go. Please help!
The landlord can always ask you to leave the property if you cannot make the rental payments on time. As you have already received the eviction notice, if you don't follow it, the landlord can file it in the court house and then the court will order the eviction. You should immediately search for another rental property in order to shift.

Hi Poppy,

I agree to what Niicss has said. However, you may request the landlord to give you some more time in order pay off the rent or shift somewhere else from the property.
