My landlord is trying to increase the rent on us mid-lease. I am concerned about his refusal to accept our payments for the old amount. We want to avoid being evicted for non-payment. If I needed to set up an escrow account to prove my intent to pay the lease, how would I go about getting it done?
Forget about creating an escrow account, the landlord cannot increase the rent suddenly. This will be against the lease agreement. You can take legal actions against the landlord.
Hi Sasha,
I agree with Niicss. The landlord cannot change the rental payments at the middle of the lease if you have a written agreement signed with him.
Thanks
