I am on social security. In such a situation, can someone place a lien on my bank account?
Social security income cannot be garnished. So, the creditors cannot place a lien on your bank account which has only your social security income.
Hi Levvy!
Welcome to the forums!
If your account has money received from other sources, then the creditor may try to place a lien on that bank account.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

A creditor cannot garnish your social security payments directly from the sender. However, once the money is in your bank account, it can be garnished.
