enhanced life estate deed , does the look back come into play and will it disqualify a person for medicade
Hi denrho,
As far as I know, a ladybird deed or enhanced life estate deed doesn't makes a person ineligible for Medicaid. But one has to express his/her intent to return back to the property after taken to nursing home. You can express your intent in the form of an affidavit or letter signed by you. However, your home can be considered as exempt property if your spouse or relative occupies it when you're not around. To know more if ladybird deed can cause medicaid penalty, check out the following link:

when applying for medicade is it true that asset transfering between spouses there is no lookback period ? and will it disqualify a person if the transfer was made ?
Hi denrho!
Welcome back to forums!
As far as I know, it is true that inter-spousal transfers i.e. transfer between spouses, are not considered transfers so there are no penalties for transferring assets between husband and wife. I don't think it will disqualify a person for the medicaid benefits.
Feel free to ask if you have further queries.
