Hi there… I’m confused. How does one deal with finances in a new marriage (2nd of me and I have three kids).I find it very odd to split everything.. He makes almost twice the amount I make... Should I always be expected to pay half of all bills? I know I have the kids as well but that’s why I get child support.
Hi Guest,
This is something which you and your would-be-husband will have to decide before marriage so that you don't face any issues later on.
Take care

This is a mortgage platform. We answer queries related to mortgages. If you have any mortgage related query, please feel free to ask.
Welcome Guest,
Your husband can expect you to pay half of the bills. If both of you want to keep your finances separate, then it will be better to go in for an inter-spousal transfer deed. Apart from that, what Sara has said is right. You should speak to your husband and decide about the bill payments.

Thanks for your replies Sara and Adonis. Will definitely had a chat with my would-be regarding this.
Skydendredge: Yes, I can understand that this is a mortgage platform but I posted in the Budgeting and Personal Finance section! I consider my query to be something related to Personal finance... But then I'm sorry if I wasted your time

Different couples have different ways on managing their finances. Expecting you to pay half of the bills totally depends upon your discussion. Thus, it is necessary that you talk about how you would deal with your finances with your spouse before your marriage. If you had not had the chance to do that, do it as soon as you both can. To be kept in the dark by each other about your finances will just lead to mistrust and misunderstandings.
