What is duration Of PPf Account?
I Wanna to Buy home, So that I want money from my PPF account.
My PPf account has started last 5 years but its duration in 15 years.
So can I withdraw money from my PPF account?
If yes , can I get interest rate on 5 years money what ever in i have balance on it?
Please give me breif on this.

its effective period works out to 16 years i.e., the year of opening the account and adding 15 years to it
Yes,you can withdraw. You can take a loan on the PPF from the third year of opening your account to the sixth year. So, if the account is opened during the financial year 2009-10, the first loan can be taken during financial year 2011-12.
The loan amount will be up to a maximum of 25 per cent of the balance in your account at the end of the first financial year. You can make withdrawals during any one year from the sixth year.

wow...if i said "the duration is 15 years" i think i'd feel foolish if i asked "what is the duration?"
