I bought the house before marriage but want to add my wife's name on the deed/title. What is the easiest way? This is just a name change so to speak so there is no tax payment due to this transfer?

Hi Guest,
You can use a quitclaim deed to add your wife's name to the property deed. If the property is free and clear i.e. if there's no mortgage on the property, then you can even use a warranty deed to add your wife's name to the property. As far as I can understand, you don't need to pay taxes for adding your wife to the property deed.
Thanks

you can use quit claim deed for adding name of your wife as a coowner of property. you will sign as grantor and your name along with her name will be shown as grantee
