We had to do a short sale not that long ago, due to medical financial hardship and now we are both permanently disabled and will have to file bankruptcy. At the time of the short sale, the lender required us to sign a promisory note to sell the property. We can barely pay for utilities and required medications, can we include the note on our bankruptcy???
Welcome heidimmiller,
Unsecured debts can be included in your bankruptcy. I would suggest you to have a talk with your bankruptcy attorney and he would let you know whether or not you can include that promissory note in your bankruptcy filing.
