My mother has lived in her home in California for 43 years and after my father dying she stopped making her house payments, when I became aware of the situation I got Power of Attorney. We were in the process of doing a loan modification and to our surprise her home was sold at the auction last Thursday. What can we do now to buy back the property?
Hi kimmanagement,
The lender cannot sell off the property without informing your mother. You should contact the lender and clarify the matter. You should also check out whether or not your state offers redemption of property. If yes, then you should pay off the back payments and fees and redeem the property.
Thanks,
Jerry
