My landlord has not givin me a copy of the lease
is asking me for the rent in cash, wont accept cashiers check or money order
trying to raise my rent without any notice
there is nothing in the lease in regards to late fees
and she said she has to "figure out" what the owners wanna charge
she wont give me the owners phone number.
if anyone has any KNOWN CORRECT advice please help me should i get a lawyer? or what

Hi enriko,
I think you should use the cashiers check to keep track on what you have paid. You can even take help from an attorney. Request him to give you the copy of the lease and how much you will have to pay for the late fees. Even then if doesn't provide you these then you should better move out of the property.
Feel free to ask if you have any further questions.
Best of luck,
Larry

Hi Enriko,
I feel you should contact a lawyer. A landlord not willing to provide you with a copy of the lease contract - this is something strange. Don't just keep on paying the higher rent payment, rather talk to a real estate attorney in your state.

Maybe before you talk to an attorney that may cause an unnecessary bill, (although I think this manager is shady!) You could go online to your county's assessors page and look up the owners information, then contact owner. I'm sure the owner would like to be informed of managers moves!
How do i deal with this. I ask to be place in another unit but they refuse to doso.
Why don't you consult an attorney ? He will definitely help you in this.
