I have lived in my mothers house taking care of her until her passing. I have lived here 7 years and medi-cal want to put a lien on home for repayment of her medical bills. Can they do this? The house has been transfered to my name.

Hi Guest!
Welcome to forums!
As far as I know, yes, Medi-Cal can do this. They can place a lien on the property of the deceased person in order to recover the medical bills. When was the house transferred in your name?
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

Hi Guest!
I would suggest you to contact a real estate attorney and take his opinion in this matter.
