Ny new spouse has asked to be added to my deed. He's Financial Advisor has sent us a Interspousal Transfer Grant Deed - showing 50% interest for both, is this the correct form to use? State of California.
Hi Valerie,
I don't think that an inter-spousal transfer deed is the correct form to add your husband to the property. You can either use a quitclaim deed or a warranty deed for adding him to the property.
An interspousal deed is mainly used in divorce cases. It helps one spouse to transfer property to another. Also, an interspousal transfer deed helps in converting community property into separate property.
Thanks
