How do I stop collection annoying calls.

Posted on: 13th May, 2008 09:26 pm
I had an account with Cingular home phone and a cell
phone no roaming charges! was in Az looking for a home in 1974-on &/11/04 I received a call my father had passed away.
I called a relative and asked "call everyone in Chicago. I will do the long distance, I have free roaming".Cingular/SBC
sent me a huge bill/I called Cingular said "the rep misinformed you,You don't have free roaming". I paid my home phone bill and disputed the cell-the company did not budge, nor did I. It has gone to a collection agency, FINAL BILL
AND THEY HARRASE me night/day and weekends. They are offering me hslf. I think 1/3 is fare ($150). How do I do this and not have it on my credit report?
I had found myself in this boat a few years back, I have over the last two years paid off some accounts that got into delinquent status, they were all really easy to work with as long as I agreed to pay and followed through with the arrangements that are made.

I am trying to keep everything caught up these days, it gets a little tough every now and then but I manage somehow.

I hope that you can keep current on things, it takes a while to get caught up and repair the damage once you have being late has caused, once you are thirty days late, it goes on your credit report.

I am glad to hear that you have are cleaning up your report, you will see some good results with time as long as you keep everything that you have now current.

I have a few that I am working on now, I should say am going to work on, I am having a hard time finding out where the accounts are now, no one has contacted me for a long time on the accounts, I am going to apply for some credit as suggested to me by jbarto, hopefully they will contact me and then I can get them paid off and be done with it.

Hopefully, with the help of this forum and meeting a few of you here, I will be able to celebrate a successful outcome here soon.

Not a bad idea erb but please be warned to be careful. If these accounts are pretty old than you have to worry about them beiong picked up by a nuk collector whom isn't always on the up and up. Sometimes it is best to let sleeping dogs asleep.
