Is there a legitimate company AFS Financial Group offering at home jobs?

Posted on: 01st Dec, 2009 10:37 am
I got an email offering an at home job after reviewing my resume (I asked where they got my resume from and he he said Career Builders); no money out of pocket required , but they want my bank information. I haven't given it to them. I looked up this company online and called (301-951-2642) their office in Maryland but its a a loop, and cant get through the company phone name listings(as she doesnt exist) to get to Human Resources by way of the name on the email as listed.

Renee Bennett
Hiring Coordinator, AFS Financial Group.

Yet I can reply to this is the reply to email address and get a response.
"info@afs-financialservice.com"

After I agree to start and I still have not given them my bank information I get a call on my home phone 11/30/09 at 6:20 pm as unknown caller with the number as 646-867-1617. He tells me he is Mark Anderson,

then proceeds to tell me all that I have told you. That i will need to give him my bank information over the phone or online(like that is safer). the last email I get is giving me the training and there is his email as listed.

Your personal manager: Mark Anderson.

Phone number: 1 (646) 867 1625.

e-mail address: "m.anderson.lfg@gmail.com"

Work time: 08:00 am – 05:00 pm (CDT).

So I call this person back 12/01/09 1:00 pm est. and ask for the form for direct deposit to take to the bank and he tells me that they dont have that form, but I can call him back, and or send him an email with the bank information. All the while NO MONEY comes OUT of my pocket. I have the emails that have been sent to me. I want to try but I have been ripped off before by a family member and dont want that to happen again. Any good advice?

I don't think it would be a good idea to give away your personal information to anyone. I doubt whether or not it's legitimate to ask for your bank information while interviewing you for a job. There are chances that you may get ripped off by the company. It's better to apply for jobs at another company.
