We were approved for the loan modification through Citi. Have made two of the three trial payments. Now Citi sent us a statemant saying we owe $5,000.00 in back fees and we are no longer qualified for the new loan program because we make too much money. Keep in mind that my wife has stage 4 BC and was forced to quit her job by her doctor. They are no help at all. Very rude. Said they tried to contact us to HELP US. Never got that call.

You've mentioned that you made two of the three trial mortgage payments. I hope those payments were on time. I would suggest you to contact your lender and reapply for the loan modification once again. Inform them about your financial situation and let them know why you require the modification of your mortgage. I'm sure they would try to assist you and give you a permanent modification.
