Does anyone know how Countrywide is doing? I have been exchangine emails with one of their loan officers. Do their loan officers work on commission? I have been preapproved by another company, but was shopping around to make sure they I was getting the best possible deal. Countrywide isnt charging a loan origination fee, and most of there other charges are less. Just curious what the catch is.
There's no info on Countrywide right now. It's ok if the charges are less. But what kind of offer did you get from them?
I would continue to look around. I never did see a day that Countrywide's reatil division could touch the rates given to brokers in their wholesale division.
You may have to look around a little, but you should be able to beat Countrywide's offer even by using an upfront and honest loan officer. Yipes that's two words we don't often use together when talking about our fellow loan officers.

Guest,
The catch is the rate. Countrywide rates are always higher. Right now, a 30 year fixed rate mortgage with 0 points is 5.625 with good credit, etc.
