Does anyone know the laws on payday loans in California? I took out a loan in October and was approved for $500, since then I have paid $150 3 times. I have read some other discussions on this website and it appears in California, anything loaned over $255 is illegal. Can anyone verify this?
Hi Starr!
As far as I know, the maximum loan amount that can be given as a payday loan is $300. The loan term is for 31 days. You should at least pay back the principal amount which you have taken. You can also check whether they are a licensed company or not.
Thanks.

Welcome tyra graddy,
