What has worked with these companies??

I am looking to find out what HAS worked to get these guys off your back and to get their greedy fingers out of your accounts. I dont want to close my bank account and reset up direct deposit and so on.. I work for a small company and any sort of phone calls are somewhat embarassing. I need to prevent these from happening.

I unfortunatley have loans for both Geneva and SJM. I didnt realize they were taking the 90 every payday. Stupid me for not reading. I was in a bind and needed the money.

I put an ACH stop payment on the loans. My bank is also small and were also leary about their possible way of changing amounts and said they are going to watch for that on my behalf. I also sent letters to both revoking their ACH rights.

On Friday I am nervous because if these stop pays dont work they will cause things like my mortgage payment, car, etc... to bounce. Not to mention the havoc it will raise on my Christmas plans.

I need to know what you have seen them do if you have put an ACH stop pay out there. To my understanding they cannot legally take out any money from me given the steps I have taken and my bank has to be on my side and reject their withdraws as these are unauthorized debits.
Hi Nikki,

The complaints against Geneva Roth’s illegal actions are increasing day by day. You have done a good thing by putting an ACH stop payment on the loans. You can also complain against them with your local Attorney General's Office. The illegal actions should be stopped.

Thanks,
Larry

Hello Nikki,

Have you given the ACH stop payment order to the bank in writing?

If Geneva Roth or SJM is pulling out more money from your account apart from the usual payments fixed according to the loan agreement, then that is illegal.

But since you have loans with both of them, they might come after you and harass you for the payments. I think it will be better for you to consult an attorney and take legal steps against them.
