being on the underside of the globe im wondering how behind we are in news flow.

I heard today that Opus Prime have had trading suspended. Reports of some $200m secured against $70m down here.

quite amazing really how consistently they are crumbling.

Could we start a thread updating which companies are going bust? I'd really like to see when they are reported in the US and when we hear about them down under.
Hi,

As for me updated news in the industry is always useful and will be helpful for the borrowers. But whether we can start a new thread on this topic or not, the Site Admin will take the decision.

Hi,

Welcome to Mortgagefit discussion board.

It seems you are an Australian. So do you want to the information only about the Australian companies or regarding companies worldwide?

BTW I have seen that Opus Prime Group owed $1 billion of secured debt.

Do let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks

Hi,

I have seen this at "http://money.cnn.com/news/newsfeeds/articles/djf500/200803272322DOWJONESDJONLINE001196_FORTUNE5.htm"

thanks for that, this is all very interesting, it seems as though the only people lending any money are lenders providing finance as short term loan, private mortgage or bridging finance. Are you finding the same thing where traditional and non-conforming lenders are fleeing the market?

well i don't think it's the short term lenders only who are providing loans. But why do you say so?
