I sat through three days in Sacramento,ca. for the NACA deal.It was very beneficial to me. But here is the deal if NACA can't help you, don't always blame them.I saw people who weren't listening when they explained. Not Everyone Qualifies.1ST you MUST have All your Documents when you arrive and you will generally be called back also emailed and phoned. Now you must bring everything. Don't expect them to keep a life style you're accustomed to.If you go out to dinner eight times a month they'll tell you not our problem. You have to pay for Mortgage,Utilities,Food,Clothing,Basics, any Credit cards already owed and you can't keep running them up.Entertainment and fun are not there problem. Now The 2ND Part That I noticed People weren't Listening to. YOUR LENDER HAS to AGREE TO THE DEAL! PERIOD! If not NACA can try to help fight but not always. 3RD you have to have .VERIFIABLE.INCOME. 4TH you will have to generally go through a trial period where you make these initial payments if you don't do it they take away the modification. People must listen to the instruction they give. You must be patient.
You are so right, bcaligirl. People who are in these unfortunate situations often hear only what they want to hear, listen only to the positive things being told them, etc. That's life in these modern times - we have so much information flowing towards us that we don't know how to filter out the good from the bad and process the important data that we most need.
When all these modification programs came out, the thrust was such that everyone in trouble believed that they'd get the assistance they desired, and that's simply not possible in every case. As you pointed out, there has to be certain specific items provided, documented, etc. and people thought, erroneously, that all they had to do was show up and say "I want to modify" and they'd get an approval in 10-15 minutes.
Simply put, there isn't enough understanding that this is a process, and that patience, as you pointed out, is essential.
That was a great post...thank you.

Welcome sandy,
NACA may help you in saving your property but in that case, you will have to remove your property from the market.
To PAMELA,
You should immediately contact NACA in order to save your property. NACA will check the whole situation and let you know whether or not they can help you.

"Putting a home on short sale" isn't, I imagine, actually selling the home. The sale won't go through until there's a contract to purchase, the buyer either pays cash or gets a mortgage to pay for the purchase, the lender holding your mortgage approves of the short sale (out of order here, but still necessary), and the closing takes place, transferring ownership.
Can NACA help with someone who has BEGUN the short sale process? Clearly, the answer is "yes."

My job just gave us notice and will end employment by March 4th. I would like to refi my home ASAP. Do you know anyone that could help with a quick refi by the end of the week?
hi guest!
welcome to forums!
you won't be able to refinance the mortgage so soon. moreover, as you'll be losing your job, it will be difficult for you to verify your employment to the lender without which the lender won't be ready to refinance the loan.
feel free to ask if you've further queries.
