Your friend needs to negotiate with her lender so that he agrees to give her a modification with 2% interest rate.

Ive been working with naca about a year wells fargo is my mortage company have they even gave any one a permeant solution?

Whether or not NACA can give permanent solution based upon your financil situation. Also, your lender will have to agree to the settlement that NACA brings forth. If the lender does not agree to it, then NACA won't be able to help you get a affordable payment plan.

naca is not a financing company they help you obtain a modification or refinance. naca does not finance anything directly themselves.

best to all.

We tried to do a modification through NACA. However my husband was working overtime, and they included the overtime income to conclude that we make enough to cover the mortgage so we were not in need of a modification. That was strange because when we tried to refinance the mortgage co. refused to include OT income because it is not permanent. In addition, the NACA rep told us that we should stop paying the unsecured debts (credit cards, medical bills etc.) which I believe was irresponsible advice. We were also told to contact them again once overtime stops. I must state that we are current on or payments, but massive medical bills and a 2 year period of unemployment left us overextended. Having stated my disappointing experience, I know persons who benefited greatly by going to NACA, so it is worth a try especially if you are in arrears/facing foreclosure.

pru, thank you for your post. you've stated both the good and the bad, and sometimes we only see one side and not the other. it's beneficial to see each side of the business, whether it's naca or some other entity.

i have a naca loan and they are only refinancing people who are upside down and need the help. i have a loan through them for 6% and wanted to refinance at a lower rate but they are only helping the needy and not the greedy lol...oh well, i tried... they are a good company. be patient, do what they say and all will go well.

Hi Will!

Welcome to forums!

As you are behind on your mortgage payments, you won't be able to get a refinance on your mortgage. Unless you've equity in your property, you won't be able to refinance. Did the lender give you any reason as to why he rejected your modification?

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

Edna, your friend would need to make a appointment to speak to a negotiator to find out why the lender declined the modification.
