Need Away From Current Lender...OCWEN!!!! ASAP

Posted on: 12th Nov, 2008 06:44 am
HELP!!!! We got tangled up with this company called OCWEN and they have messed up our credit rating real bad!!!! Need to get away from them ASAP What can we do?
the easy thing to do is to shop around for lenders. unfortunately, if ocwen has truly "messed up" your credit rating real bad, you'll find that most other lenders won't be interested in bailing you out.

in the interim period, get to work on straightening out the credit rating by catching up with payments and continuing to make them on time.

one question: was it ocwen only or did you also contribute to this mess up?

Hi guest,

Welcome to our forums.

I'd like to know how you got entangled with the company "OCWEN". And how did they mess up with your credit rating? Are you into any kind of dealings with them? let me know more of your situation so that I can help you out with some concrete suggestion.

Hi,
I have had nothing but problems with Ocwen. They have said "we never got your check" multiple times since they have been the loan servicer. To date, I am 3 months late and since November 5, 2008 they still cannot locate the check (which I stopped payment on), but not the point. When I was 58 days late, from the check loss by them, I had fees totalling over $1,000.00 and they were trying to renegotiate my loan at a higher rate, with escrows, raising the payment over $300.00 per month. What have they done to you?

Hi Chrisk,

As far as I can understand from your post, Ocwen lost your check. So did you have to pay the loan at a higher rate?

Thanks

I have gotten tangled up with OCWEN as well. This is the game they play. They had me in foreclosure! All of my payments were on time but they were not applying my payments to the mortage. They were applying part of each payment to an escrow account for FORCED insurance but I had active insurance. They finally got it straightened out after I paid them $5000 (late fees and interest and foreclosure fees) They sent me a check for the escrow amount but they still reported me late for several months and never reverse the late fees or foreclosure amounts. Now my credit is so screwed I can not get a loan with any one else. I am at their mercy and they are trying to do it all over again.
