hi desjudith .

welcome to the forum.

i think it takes couple of hundreds of dollars but should contact with other attorneys if you think that the present attorney is charging too much. are you going through the probate process? that is why he may be charging more and it is a very time consuming process.

but i think it is better if they can refinance.

best of luck,
larry

Hi desjudith .

Welcome back.

As I have said Probate is a very time consuming process. So it will take time. Only after you get your name on the title, you can refinance. Unless and until you are on the title you cannot refinance on your name. So first get your name on the mortgage.

Feel free to ask if you have any further questions.

Best of luck,
Larry
