My Uncle wants to give me his property. He owes $911.00 in Community Association Fees, which I am will to pay towards. He has owned the property for over 60 years and never built anything on it. He lost his copy of the Deed and recently obtained a new copy from the Town Hall in Watertown Connecticut. How do we go about the process of transferring the property to me?
Hi suetomkus,
Your uncle can sign a quitclaim deed and transfer the property to you. He will be the grantor and you would be the grantee to the property. Once the deed is filled out properly, it needs to be notarized and recorded at the county recorder's office to make it valid.
Thanks
