My mother signed up for a credit card 10 years ago. She put me on the card as an authorized user. This was her card, but in case of an emergency I could use it. She has since racked up a huge debit on it, so she closed the account two years ago. Now it has shown up on my otherwise excellent credit report and destroyed it. She doesn't have the account information anymore, neither does chase bank (where the card was from), they also have no record of me at all. What do I do?

if you were only an authorized user, it ought not to have affected your credit score. check with the credit agencies to see how it was reported. if it reported you as a joint owner, you will have to go back and dispute the report. if you have documentation at all, so much the better.
If youa re using any credit reporting websites like Experian, Trans Union, you should disput this on line and in the mena time call the bank to make corrections.
The credit agencies may nto make any changesuntil it is confirmed by the issuing bank.
