Forcluse clean up options

Hello
I had my home foreclosed on December of 2009 and following that I watch my credit scores carefully and often. My Experian fell to 615 but now has returned to 715. My Experian and Equifax are slightly higher with Transunion being the highest @ 725. To see these scores I use a credit reporting service through American Express. Just today I heard that the credit reporting scoring systems like Experian's PLUS score are not used by banks but that FICO is so, I went online at FICO and they were showing my Equifax score to be 688 and not the 719 that Equifax i reporting to me directly. Why is this?
Also, I would like to clear the past due amount of the foreclosure ($17,000) since at this point as due to the foreclosure I do not owe anybody anything on the house. What credit clean options do I have as the two of the credit reporting services show I still owe the outstanding principle on the now defunct mortgage?

Thanks
Hi Guest,

You should contact Equifax directly and check out why there is a discrepancy in your credit scores. They will explain the matter to you.

If you want to pay back the dues to the mortgage company, you should contact the lender and he will guide you with the required steps.

Thanks

hi!

welcome to forums!

to guest,

you won't be able to remove a foreclosure from your credit report. it will remain in your credit report for the next 7 years as any other negative item.

to guest,

you should sign a quitclaim deed and transfer the property to your ex-partner. thus, you won't remain liable for the property any more. however, if your name is on the mortgage, then your ex-partner will have to refinance it in order to release your from the mortgage liability.

feel free to ask if you've further queries.
