I got my credit card from experian a month ago and they gace me a vantage score of 649. day before yesterday I again poulled my reort and they gae me a PLUS credit score of 550. I am surprised to see my credit score down by nearly 100. Are they calculated differently?pls let me know ? its frustrating to find different scores when I have actually though of applying for a home loan in the next few months.
It seems that there are 2 scores – one for you to see and the other for the lenders on the basis of which they will rate you. The score which lenders need to see is the lower one.

Hi Molly,
Welcome to this forum.
There are different scoring systems based on different scales. Each type of score follows a different scoring system. Moreover, different types of scores are almost identical with respect to the lending risk they represent. So, one should not go with the numbers as they are based on various scales.
Thus, your PLUS score and the vantage score may show different figures but then they represent similar type of lending risk.
Thanks
