loan question

Posted on: 22nd Feb, 2011 03:26 pm
I have a score of 590 and have no current open accounts on my credit.I plan to have all my negative accounts on my credit paid within 2 wks.I have rented the same home for 650 a month for 5 years.I have worked at the same job for 6 yrs though I only make about 22,000 a year. Will I be able to get a loan and how long should I wait after my debt is paid off to attempt to get a loan?
Hi liz!

Welcome to forums!

With a credit score of 590, it will be difficult for you to get a mortgage. You should pay off the negative items listed in your credit report and try to improve your score. Once your score gets improved, you'll be able to get a mortgage.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

You need to have three positive tradelines with some history to them as well as scores of 640 or higher to be eligible. If you do not currently have three (they can be closed but must be reporting) - Take some time to work on the credit - it will pay off in the end
