Can anyone answer this question for me? I am currently in the military and my wife and I are constanly on the move from state to state every 3-4 years until recently. Well we were stationed in California and my wife worked in California, therefore requiring her to pay state taxes.
My wife and I have never owed on our taxes, but with the chaos of the new move we failed to file her taxes for California. A couple of years later my wife noticed on her report that there was a tax lien on her credit report. The problem is that we never owed taxes and we proved that by filing the proper tax forms and the state of California owed us money back from her taxes. The issue is that the tax lien is still on her report and it has been released, but it still looks as if the tax lien was legit even thought it was not and they will not remove it.
I have worked with the credit bureau with no success. Can anyone offer any advice?

Hi Mighty!
You can speak to IRS and tell them about the false tax lien levied on your wife's credit report. I think they will help you in a better way.
Thanks,
Jerry
