Is it possible for a 24 year old who has been employed at same job for a little over two years at present employer, with no revolving accounts, with only three small medical bills on report with a credit score of 586 and good rental history to obtain a first time home buyer mortage?

Yes, there are FHA First Time Home Buyer Loans for individuals with a 580+ middle credit score. Having 2 years on the same job and positive rental history does help, but they're going to require some type of alternate credit as well (utility bills, cell phone bill, 24mth rental history). I hope this helps...
