My husband does not has any kind of credit. He is facing a hard time in getting a credit card. In such a situation, if I add him as an authorized user to my CC, will that help? We want to buy a property in this year. Will this help in building his score?
Hi Benten,

You can add your husband to your credit card as an authorized user. If the card is maintained properly, then it might add to his credit score. Nevertheless, it will be better if he takes out some secured credit cards, then it will also help him boost his credit.

Thanks,

Jerry

Hi Benten,

Taking out a secured credit card is definitely a very good option to build up credit. But along with it, he should some how manage to qualify for 1-2 credit cards as well. Maintaining those credit cards well will help him in improving his scores in a better way.

Thanks

By being an authorized and wise user of credit card, your husband can gradually build up credit score. However, for purchasing a home, you should think of taking out a home mortgage loan.
