How to fix credit problems.

Posted on: 13th Apr, 2010 12:31 pm
i have a home closing pending. 6 years ago in 2004 i filed bankruptcy and included a 1st and second mortgage in the bk. the second mortagage was bought out by gmac and now it shows on my credit report as a paid write off, homecoming financial was the lender and was included in bk. how can i get this corrected on my credit report. i have a pending contract on a home now but the underwriter want to see this clear on credit report althought she has my bk papers, and the account numbers are the same.gmac stated to me they bought out the homecoming financial. they cant even find a record of my account in the system.
The bankruptcy will be included in your credit report for 7 years. If the loan has been forgiven by the lender, then it will be noted as a write off. But as 6 years have passed off after the discharge, I don't think you should face any issues in getting a loan. You may speak to other lenders and check out if they can help you in getting a loan.
