credit score

ok I was checking my scores with www.myfico.com and they are only showing that I can check transu. and equifax , why only these two and not all three ?

thanks
Because Experian got ticked off at FICO in February of last year and decided it wouldn't allow consumers to buy its FICO-based credit scores any longer. Lenders still can, but consumers can't. How unfair is that, huh?

Hi Clayedwards,

What Joshuah has said is true. Experian still continues with the credit scoring, but it is no more with the Fair Issac Corporation, as of now. Therefore you are not allowed to see their report or score anymore.

Regards,

Lydia :)

So experian keep track of scores, but won't relaease them to the public? Sounds pretty cloak and dagger to me - what if you want to dispute thier score?

They will happily sell you an Experian credit report and an Experian credit score. I believe they currently charge $15. And of course, you're free to dispute any inaccuracies you find on your report.

However, they chose to not continue their partnership with FICO, which is like the 100 lb gorilla in the credit scoring world. You can no longer get access to your Experian-based FICO scores, but lenders can.

if you buy the Experian credit score from Experian is it the same as the fico score ?
Posted on: 23rd Feb, 2010 06:24 am
Nope, you can't get your Experian-based FICO score any longer. The score Experian will sell you is a different.

josh is there a big dif. in the two scores ?
thanks

It's tough to make an educated guess because there are so many variables involved. Some scores, like the Vantage score and Experian Plus, are even on different scales, so you can't really compare apples to apples.

For me, the only scores I care to watch are my FICO scores. The rest, as many people will say, are simply FAKOs.

ok, Il ljust wait till after the first of the month and pull the fico scores.
Is there anyother place to get them other then myfico.com for cheaper or is that the best place.

thanks

not sure why you can't pull all 3....did you get free or paid?

myfico is the same scores MOST lenders use
other agencies use different models which will not gtive you the same scores mortgage lenders use

I had to pay for my equifax in order to check it and plan on paying for it again along with the trans. one after the 1st to give them time to update
I got my one free for the year at the first of feb.

Stick with MyFico.com to buy your FICO scores. Try googling MyFico disount codes first, and you can usually find a good one that works. I think "CPPSAVINGS" currently works and gives you 20% off any product.
