Brian is correct. Only partially. Definitely doing your personal research is great, and this fourum. Delve into your resources that you have here on site. Always, you have experts here that can personally add depth and further understanding to what exactly you are looking for. As I stated in response to you post, good credit is a good "start", obviously we have very many more factors to consider. I encourage you to research on your own and definitely you have a vast array of speacialists here that are more than willing to assist you in your quest of home ownership.
brian is right, far more than partially so; as is typically the case.
jerry, you made a direct solicitation of this poster, and that is contrary to the rules of the forum.
now, to get to the point...rjepsie, your credit score is certainly a good start, but of course your income and whatever financial obligations you have will play a large role in how you qualify for the purchase of a home. in addition, any lender is going to need to know all sorts of other things regarding your background - work history, residence history with payment of rent (or not), assets available for use in making a purchase or to be held in reserve.
the bottom line for you is (and here i agree with jerry) to avail yourself of the vast resources here on this forum as well as with any lender you may feel comfortable with to determine how and how much you can qualify for.
