Charge off

Posted on: 14th Jun, 2012 01:59 am
I have debts which are showing off as charge off's and/or transferred to a CA. They are showing off as Transfer and then listed under the CA. How do I handle this properly? Do I dispute both to the CRA? If they do not delete them, do I send a DV to the CA?
Hi Vella,

As far as I know, it is not unusual for an OC and the CA to report the item to your credit report. Well, disputing the account status with the credit bureaus won't have much effect, but there is no harm in trying. You can even send a DV letter to the CA. This might help you in removing that entry from your credit report.

Take care

Hi Vella,

Sara is right. Both the original creditor as well as the collection agency can report the account to your credit report.

Thanks
