Hi chandanlinks!
Welcome to the forums!
You shouldn't give away your account number to any unknown person. Try to carry your cards separately, rather than keeping them in your wallet. This will help you save your cards even if you lose your wallet.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

I do a lot of preventive measures to protect myself from credit card fraud. I never give out my information especially my credit information to anyone, I am wary of people calling me or emailing me who are posing as bank representatives and I am extra careful when it comes to places or my actions which might give away my information—which is why I always put a lock on my mailbox, shred papers before I throw them out, keep an eye on my card when I use it and choose the ATMs which I use my card in.
This reminds me of another related problem; Mortgage scams. How do you avoid them? Especially now that there are many borrowers who do not qualify for traditional mortgages and some are taking advantage to defraud the desperate borrowers. One rule for me is to avoid upfront costs, before signing on the dotted line.
