i filed a chapter 13 bankruptcy in 2004, and repaid the entire amount in 2009. the bankruptcy was discharged in september. i am having trouble getting financial help (i need some home repairs). what can i do?
thanks.
thanks.
Hi Guest,
It will be difficult for you to qualify for a loan immediately after the discharge of your Chapter 13 bankruptcy. You'll have to wait for 2 years to qualify for a conventional loan and 1 year to qualify for a FHA loan. Thus, you'll have to wait for about a year in order to qualify for a home improvement loan.
Thanks

FHA should be 12months from paying the chapter 13...and 24months Discharge for Chapter 7.
Haven't done one of these in a while but i'm pretty sure the guidelines are still the same for Chapter 13 (12months from filing date)
