I have three credit card charge-offs on my credit report.
These were listed back in 2004-2005. The statute of limitations in the state of NC is 3 years. Shouldn't these have come off a long time ago? Since they haven't, what can I do - I am trying to get a mortgage loan and cannot!!

Hi nclizard,
Any negative item will remain on your credit report for next 7 years. As the statute of limitations in North Carolina is 3 years, the collection agency won't be able to file any lawsuit against you to recover the dues.
Thanks
