Does it count against meto get a credit score if my credit may not be great

I have heard it may not look good to lenders if I get my credit score checked prior to applications, esp. if it is not stellar. This seems counter-intuitive to me. Is this true? Would they even know if I have gotten a credit score without me informing them?
Hi johnwiercioch!

Welcome to forums!

You will check your credit report in order to know your credit scores. This will be considered as a soft inquiry and it won't affect your credit scores in a negative way.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
