will checking credit score damage my credit?
No, it wont.
Hi chandanlinks,
If you check your own credit report, it will be considered as a soft enquiry and it won't have a negative impact on scores.
Thanks

If you are simply checking your credit score, it will have no negative effect on your credit score as it will only be considered as a soft inquiry. On the other hand, if you apply for loans or new credit, the banks or the lenders will need to pull out your credit report. Their inquiries fall under hard inquiry, which when, performed, will decrease your credit score. To minimize the decrease, make sure that you apply for loans all at the same time. When a lenders pulls on your credit report, different lenders can keep on pulling your report for a certain period of time. So, when you apply for different loans and lenders pull your report at the same time, the pulls will be within the allotted period of time which will make consider them all as single pull.
