In this New Year I have decided to make it my priority to clean up my credit. As of right now I have used about 75-80% of my available credit. I also have. Three items in collections, s 30 day late on a car loan an 9 hp. My scores are not good though. Within the next month will be able to pay off all my credit cards, leaving me with my car loan. How much of a score increase should I expect?
There will surely be a considerable improvement in your credit given your plans. However, since your score is pretty low, hence you'll have to work harder and oevr a certain period of time.
It is very nice that you have made resolutions to clean up your credit in 2013. The moves that you have thought of are certainly in the right direction. These will surely have some positive effects on your credit score.
Hi JAN,
Paying off your credit cards is definitely a good option in order to improve your scores. Your scores will definitely improve but it is difficult to say how much points it will increase.
Thanks,
Jerry

dont pay off the cards.... leave 1 - 2% utilization. This seems to matter
