How can the account type be reported as open yet there's a date closed being reported? The account type is mentioned as Open account and the date closed is also reported in the credit report. Can anyone explain this? It’s so very confusing for me.
Hi Bonbon,
Account type and date closed are two different things. Account type does not refer to status of the account. So, I don't think you should worry if the account type has been mentioned as open and closed date have been mentioned on your credit report.
Thanks,
Jerry

Hi Bonbon!
Welcome to forums!
An open account or revolving credit is a consumer credit line that can be used up to a certain limit or paid down at any time. It has nothing to do with closing date of your account.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
