I currently have a collection from sprint for a cell phone bill of $1426. This included early termination fees. I had applied for early termination for the terrible service that I got. It says "Virtuoso CO" is now in charge of the account. They can't force me into bankruptcy for this right? I mean having an account in collection has what repercussions beside it affecting your credit?
hi surti!
welcome to forums!
no one can force you into filing bankruptcy. it will be completely your discretion whether or not you will file bankruptcy. apart from affecting your credit, having an account in collection will take away your mental peace. they will constantly contact you and harass you for the payments.
feel free to ask if you've further queries.

The only thing a creditor can do is get a judgement against you...If you own any real property, they can attach the judgement to the property. Other than that, you are at the mercy of the calls...You can settle the account for pennies on the dollar. Ask for a pay for delete option...
