Hi jsmith,

In order to get a conventional loan, you would require a credit score of 720 as Gary has stated. Apart from this, you should have a stable income to get a conventional loan. The lender will also check your debt to income ratio. Moreover, if negative items are less in your credit report, it would be easier for you to get a loan.

Thanks

you can get a conventional loan with a score as low as 620. however, there are financial considerations, as all scores below 720 are subject to pricing adjustments. these can range from as little as .25 to as high as 3.00, depending on the loan to value ratio. there are other considerations that are used in pricing loans as well. each scenario is different and needs to be priced accordingly.
