Hi there… I'm single, 28 years old and have no assets in my name. I have just graduated and will start earning soon. I screwed up my credit 5-6 years ago with credit cards and racked up about 35,000 dollars in credit card debit. I stopped paying on all accounts around 2 years back and now they are all charged-off. Is this the right scenario to file bankruptcy?
hi savvio!
welcome to forums!
you can file bankruptcy for your credit card debts and get them discharged. however, filing bankruptcy should be your last resort. you should check out other options in order to pay off your credit card debts and get rid of them. you can negotiate with your credit card companies in order to get an affordable repayment plan to pay it off.
feel free to ask if you've further queries.

Welcome Savvio,
I agree with Sussane's opinion. Rather than filing bankruptcy, it will be better if you could go for credit card debt consolidation and pay off the debts.
