I had a few student loans which are all 90days past due a few years ago. I sent a good will letter to the lenders and they do not delete the history for a good will letter. The loans have been sold already to dept of ed. Am I just dead in the water here? Or does anyone have any suggestions.
Welcome Sandy,
Any negative item will stay in your credit report for 7 years. It will depend upon the discretion of the lender whether or not he will consider your request for removing the negative item from your credit report.

Hi Sandy!
Welcome to forums!
I agree with what Adonis has said. You cannot forcefully remove a negative item from your credit report. You should keep on negotiating with the lender so that you can convince the lender to consider your case and get to know whether or not the lender will remove the negative item from your credit report.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
